About Us

A sow with her piglets standing on grass in a field.

Independent and local:

The Livestock Clinic covers farms across Surrey, Sussex and into parts of Kent, Hampshire and Berkshire.

Our service is competitive and progressive whilst maintaining the traditional values of farm practice.

Services

We provide an ambulatory service with vehicles fully kitted out to provide all our services on farm.
Diagnostics:We have access to an in-house laboratory for worm egg counting, microscopy and same day blood work.  Diagnostic work is also sent away to several commercial veterinary laboratories.  We collaborate with local equine practices to offer on farm and in-clinic radiography.
We offer an on-farm post mortem service but also make use of the local post mortem facilities in the area.
Medicines: Medicines can be purchased from vet vehicles during visits, ordered for collection from Guildford or posted to your farm.  Please allow 2-3 working days for orders to be processed wherever possible.

Please ring ahead before collecting
Surgery Referral: We have excellent relationships  with local equine hospitals to facilitate inpatient and surgery referrals for cases that require management off farm on a case by case basis.

Lissie@thelivestockclinic.co.uk

Lissie developed a love of farming while growing up in the Lake District. She graduated from the University of Bristol Veterinary School in 2012, where she subsequently completed a one-year farm animal internship before undertaking an equine  externship in New Zealand. Since 2015, Lissie has worked in farm animal practice in Surrey.

Lissie has  experience working with all farm animal species from dairy farms to back garden farm pets. She enjoys all aspects of farm practice but has a special interest in small ruminants and camelids. She gained her Cert AVP in camelid pracitice in 2023 and continues to enjoy a growing camelid case load.

Ollie joined our team in 2022 after graduating from Glasgow in 2022. Since then he has been traveling around Peru seeing Alpacas in their natural habitat!

Growing up on a farm in Kent Ollie has a particular interest in sheep but enjoys all aspects of farm animal practice. Outside of work Ollie is a keen football fan and is currently looking for a team to join in the South East.

 Andrew Richmond   BVM&S MRCVS

Andrew joined the team in 2025. Andrew graduated from Edinburgh in 1996 and went into mixed practice before deciding that pure farm was for him a couple of years later. He has been based in the South East throughout his career to date and is well known within the farming community in the area.  Andrew enjoys all aspects of farm practice and has built up a wealth of knowledge across livestock species.

Richard Talbot BVSc (Dist) BSc (Hons) MRCVS

Mobile 07413 236554

  Email richard@thelivestockclinic.co.uk

Richard grew up on the Isle of Wight and went on to qualify from the University of Bristol in 2012 with distinction, including an intercalated year studying zoology (because one degree clearly wasn’t quite enough).

He started his career back on the island in mixed practice, but after three years decided to follow his passion for farm animals. Along the way, he’s also kept a foot in the more exotic world, spending two years working with animals at Longleat Safari Park and making regular appearances on the BBC’s Animal Park.

Outside of work, Richard is happiest either on the water or on two wheels. He’s a keen sailor and recently won the MOCRA (multihull) National Championships alongside his dad and brother. When he’s not sailing, he can often be found bikepacking through obscure corners of Europe—usually by choice, occasionally by questionable navigation.

He also once spent a year living in a campervan, which was every bit as character-building as it sounds… especially in winter.

Practice Administrator

Molly Wates: Practice Administrator

 Molly@thelivestockclinic.co.uk

Molly joined our team in March 2025 as our farm technician and office help, and has recently started as our full time practice administrator. After graduating from university she spent 2024 travelling around New Zealand and learning about their agricultural practices. Growing up on a farm in West Sussex, Molly enjoys working with all livestock and is keen to help out where ever needed.

Working for you

Throughout every visit we endeavour to work together with our clients to have a positive impact on the productivity and efficiency of the farm and the health and welfare of the animals.
