In addition to the large external veterinary laboratories we utilise for diagnostics we are also delighted to be able to offer a local faecal parasitology service through Jane. Jane has many years of experience in the lab, worm egg counting for AHPH and later in veterinary practice. She has developed her own mini parasitology laboratory out of which she provides a high quality service

If you would like to send your samples to Jane for analysis then please:
- Print and fill out a submission form (PDF below) and include with your samples
- Please post your worm egg count samples to Jane (Jane's WEC Lab, Long Meadow, Shurlock Reading, RG10 0PL) the same day they are collected by 1st class post.
- Please ensure posted samples are compliant with postage of category B biological substance requirements
- See below for further instructions on collecting samples for worm egg count.
- Samples delivered to the practice directly will be sent to one of our external veterinary laboratories unless speciefied for Janes lab
Our Services
Jane carries out worm egg counts for all livestock species, horses/donkeys (by McMaster method) and camelids (by Modified Stolls method).
She also offers lungworm (Baermanns test) and fluke sedimetation

Results are reviewed and reported by a vet with an interpretation and advice given at the time of reporting (£10 ex VAT). If you would like to receive your results directly by email without advice please specify on your submission form.
IF DROPPING POO AT THE PRACTICE PLEASE DECANT INTO THE PLASITC POTS PROVIDED. DO NOT LEAVE IN BAGS. PLEASE TAKE SURPLUS AWAY WITH YOU.
